Baseball Game Preview: Willows Honkers vs. Maxwell Panthers

The Willows Honkers will take on the Maxwell Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Willows has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Winters hit Willows with a six-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Honkers lost 12-2 to the Warriors. The defeat continues a trend for the Honkers in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost nine in a row.

Willows saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Garman, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Maxwell beat Hamilton 5-1 on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Willows' loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Maxwell, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.

Willows came out on top in a nail-biter against Maxwell in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Honkers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
