Baseball Game Preview: Skowhegan River Hawks vs. Brewer Witches

The Skowhegan River Hawks will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Brewer Witches at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Skowhegan managed to slip by Mt. Ararat the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The River Hawks lost 13-3 to the Eagles on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the River Hawks have lost by exactly ten runs.

Skowhegan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Fitzpatrick, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Jason Aubin was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

While Brewer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They won by a run and slipped past Ellsworth 4-3.

Skowhegan now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Brewer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
