Recap: Frankton Eagles vs. Lapel Bulldogs

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Frankton Eagles ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past Lapel with a 62-58 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Frankton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Carmack led the charge by scoring 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joey Wright, who scored 18 points along with 6 assists.

When it comes to explaining why Lapel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bode Judge. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with 7 rebounds. Judge scored a full 39.7% of Lapel's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Witte, who scored 5 points along with 7 assists.

The victory makes it two in a row for Frankton and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Lapel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankton will square off against Muncie Burris at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lapel, they will head out on the road to face off against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
