Basketball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage lost against Wakefield back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Heritage Huskies fell 41-29 to the Wakefield Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd in North Carolina, while the Wolverines are ranked 11th in North Carolina).

Wakefield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyla Bagwell, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddison McIntyre, who had nine points.

Heritage is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13. As for Wakefield, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wakefield beat Heritage by a score of 49-38 on Monday.
