Softball Recap: Hughesville Takes a Loss

Hughesville lost against Loyalsock Township on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ashlynn Barlett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Knight, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hughesville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Loyalsock Township, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Coming up, Hughesville will square off against Bloomsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Loyalsock Township, they will face off against Warrior Run at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
