Basketball Game Preview: Mohawk Warriors vs. Carey Blue Devils

Mohawk and Carey are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Mohawk Warriors will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Carey Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. Mohawk will be strutting in after a victory while Carey will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Mohawk was fully in charge, breezing past Ridgemont 67-37. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Carey was beaten by Bluffton 77-36 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 649th, while the Pirates are ranked 163rd).

Mohawk's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.5 points. As for Carey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Mohawk barely slipped by Carey when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 47-46. Will Mohawk repeat their success, or does Carey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
