Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryan Rifer and Aiden Mcallister Lead Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] to Victory

There's no place like home for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They managed a 45-40 victory over the Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Leading Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] to victory were Aiden McAllister and Ryan Rifer. McAllister posted 12 points, while Rifer dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave McAllister a new career-high in assists (three). Ryder Hemenway was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hartington-Newcastle only posted eight.

Hartington-Newcastle's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Austin Sudbeck, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds, and Mason Krause, who scored nine points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

The win got Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] back to even at 1-1. As for Hartington-Newcastle, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
