Basketball Recap: Tooele Falls Despite Big Games from Kennedy Searle and Macie Gustin

After flying high against Ben Lomond last Tuesday, Tooele came back down to earth. The Tooele Buffaloes lost 72-46 to the Mountain View Bruins on Wednesday. The Buffaloes' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Tooele's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Macie Gustin, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 18 points and six steals, and Kennedy Searle, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Gustin a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiyana Tso, who put up five points.

Tooele's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Mountain View, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tooele will square off against Ogden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tooele is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.9 points per game this season. As for Mountain View, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m.
