Volleyball Recap: Vanmeter Lillian Key Part of Team Effort in Tigers Win

There's no place like home for Grant, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Tri County Area Vikings on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Grant had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-19.

Grant got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was VanMeter Lillian out in front who had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Lillian has posted over her last five matchups. Bouwkamp Payton also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Grant was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri County Area only served five aces.

Tri County Area's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Julianne Thompson, who had 16 digs and two aces, and Aubrey Wootton, who had five digs. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Grant's record is now 6-2. As for Tri County Area, their loss was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.
