Softball Recap: East Allegheny Comes Up Short

East Allegheny lost against Freeport back in May of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. East Allegheny lost 13-3 to Freeport. The Wild Cats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sophia Sciulli was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Alaysia Smail, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

East Allegheny's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Freeport, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Looking ahead, East Allegheny will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Greensburg Central Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Freeport, they are taking a road trip to challenge Deer Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Freeport is facing Deer Lakes at the right time seeing as Deer Lakes is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
