Football Game Preview: Mansfield Wolverines vs. Marksville Tigers + How To Watch

The Mansfield Wolverines will square off against the Marksville Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mansfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Winnfield 42-12. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Jaydan Hamilton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 190 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Those 190 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Terrell Pegues was another key rusher, rushing for 149 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mansfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 408 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Marksville against Patterson on Friday as the squad secured a 48-14 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Lumberjacks are ranked 206th).

Marksville's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Mansfield, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 9-2.

Mansfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Marksville in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 34-28 win. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
