Preview: Hilton Head Prep Dolphins vs. Beaufort Academy Eagles
Hilton Head Prep is 9-1 against Beaufort Academy since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hilton Head Prep Dolphins are on the road again and play against the Beaufort Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Hilton Head Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Last Friday, Hilton Head Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwood Academy, taking the game 45-36. Given Hilton Head Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Northwood Academy is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hilton Head Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Campbell, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jason Britschge, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, everything went Beaufort Academy's way against Cross Schools on Friday as Beaufort Academy made off with a 65-39 victory. The win was just what Beaufort Academy needed coming off of a 51-31 loss in their prior game.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Hilton Head Prep's victory pushed their record up to 5-1, while Northwood Academy's defeat dropped theirs down to 1-5.
Hilton Head Prep strolled past Beaufort Academy in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 72-56. Will Hilton Head Prep repeat their success, or does Beaufort Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
