Baseball Recap: Reading Takes a Loss

Reading was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Governor Mifflin Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-7 back in April.

Reading saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Janser Paredes, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Joset Pagan also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Governor Mifflin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will welcome Wyomissing at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red KNights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Governor Mifflin, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
