Basketball Recap: Islamic Foundation Comes Up Short

Islamic Foundation lost against Mooseheart back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Islamic Foundation Chargers lost to the Mooseheart Red Ramblers at home by a 77-63 margin.

Leading Mooseheart to victory were John McGowin and Jaylen Hope. McGowin dropped a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds, while Hope dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 boards. What's more, McGowin posted five steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Oluwatosin Isola, who had six points.

Islamic Foundation has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points over those games. The victory made it two in a row for Mooseheart and bumps their season record up to 8-19.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Islamic Foundation will take on Fasman Yeshiva in a tournament on Monday. As for Mooseheart, they will venture away from home to face off against Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
