Softball Recap: Trona Takes a Loss

Trona has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.71 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mojave Mustangs by a score of 10-8. The Tornadoes have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Amy Dabdoub and Chloe Corrion did some serious damage despite the final result: Dabdoub scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4, while Corrion scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Dabdoub has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chanelle Soberanes, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Trona's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mojave, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Trona will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Mojave, they will head out to take on Immanuel Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
