Basketball Game Preview: Alexander Central Cougars vs. Freedom Patriots

Alexander Central has gone 8-2 against Freedom recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Alexander Central Cougars will face off against the Freedom Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Alexander Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Alexander Central took on Hibriten on Tuesday. Alexander Central slipped by Hibriten 49-48.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alexander Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faith Burch, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Burch a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malayah Adams, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, Freedom's game on Wednesday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Watauga. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Freedom's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Alexander Central, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

Alexander Central strolled past Freedom in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 51-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alexander Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
