Baseball Recap: Brighton Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Brighton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Northglenn Norse 12-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Corkery tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Brighton got a massive performance out of Brody Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Martinez a new career-high. Teagan Reininger was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI.

Brighton's record now sits at 7-4. As for Northglenn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Brighton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Prairie View on the 9th. As for Northglenn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-4 loss against Mountain Range on the 9th.
