Brunswick has gone 10-0 against South Effingham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Brunswick Pirates will square off against the South Effingham Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Friday, Brunswick came up short against Glynn Academy and fell 50-37. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, South Effingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Bradwell Institute 67-8. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Tigers are ranked 31st).

South Effingham's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Brunswick, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Brunswick didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against South Effingham in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was South Effingham's Elena Hairston, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
