Soccer Recap: Newman International Academy Comes Up Short

Newman International Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 5-1 to the ILTexas Arlington Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in January.

Newman International Academy's goal came courtesy of Josue Matos, who's now up to 11 this season.

Newman International Academy now has a losing record of 6-7. As for ILTexas Arlington, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Newman International Academy will host Harmony Nature & Athletics at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Newman International Academy has given up an average of 3.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. ILTexas Arlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
