Basketball Recap: Northeast Guilford Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Northeast Guilford came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Western Guilford Hornets 40-13. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Jainya Williams had an outrageously good game for Western Guilford as she shot 45% from the field to rack up 14 points and six steals. The last time Williams' field goal percentage was this high was back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reese Miga, who posted eight points and five steals.

Northeast Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Western Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Northeast Guilford will host Morehead at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Western Guilford, they will head out on the road to face off against Northern Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
