Basketball Recap: Zoe Spangenberg and Lexie Arnold Secure Win for Mccall-Donnelly

McCall-Donnelly's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-33 win over the Homedale Trojans. That's more bragging rights for the Vandals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading McCall-Donnelly to victory were Lexie Arnold and Zoe Spangenberg. Arnold posted 18 points, while Spangenberg put up 13 points. Those 18 points gave Arnold a new career-high. Kaitlyn Esplin was another key player, putting up five points.

When it comes to explaining why Homedale lost, don't look at Tiana Sorenson. Despite the final result, she had 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Belen Asumendi, who posted six points.

The victory got McCall-Donnelly back to even at 7-7. As for Homedale, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCall-Donnelly will square off against Cole Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Homedale, they will face off against Fruitland at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
