Recap: Gilbert Tigers vs. Desert Vista Thunder
On Tuesday, the Gilbert Tigers faced the Desert Vista Thunder in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Gilbert fell 68-59 to Desert Vista. Gilbert's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aspen McClees, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Meisha Caserio, who scored 21 points.
Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Desert Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will take on Highland at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Highland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for Desert Vista, they will be playing at home against Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Queen Creek has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
