Basketball Game Preview: Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals vs. South Wake Sabres

Two dominant guards in Blake Batts and Noah Wright are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals will be playing at home against the South Wake Sabres at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Southeastern HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

On Friday, Southeastern HomeSchool didn't have too much trouble with New Life Camp as they won 65-46. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Storm are ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, South Wake made off with a 64-63 victory over St. David's.

Southeastern HomeSchool better keep an eye on Wright. He was instrumental in South Wake's win, going 6 of 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points and five rebounds. Wright's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Webb, who posted 12 points.

South Wake has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Southeastern HomeSchool, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3.

Southeastern HomeSchool didn't have too much breathing room in their game against South Wake when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 66-61 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was South Wake's Lawson Jurgens, who went 8 for 14 en route to 20 points and seven boards.
