Softball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Takes a Loss

Lake Highland Prep extended their losing streak to 11 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They came up short against the Master's Academy Eagles, falling 7-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Highlanders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Lake Highland Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava McGee, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that McGee has hit this season.

As for Master's Academy, they now have a winning record of 12-11. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Lake Highland Prep: they've now won four in a row.

On Master's Academy's side, Lauren McMeel was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits McMeel has posted since back in March. Isa Moya was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Looking ahead, Lake Highland Prep will venture away from home to face off against The First Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Royals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.81 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Master's Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orangewood Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
