Volleyball Recap: Pocono Mountain West Panthers vs. William Allen Canaries
Pocono Mountain West unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the William Allen Canaries by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.
Pocono Mountain West couldn't get the win, but they sure gave William Allen a tough time in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-21, 28-30, 15-9.
Isaac Ssenyundo paced Pocono Mountain West's offense, picking up 13 kills. Ssenyundo got some help from Antonio Baric and his 28 assists. Finally, Baric was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
William Allen's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pocono Mountain West will host Louis E. Dieruff at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for William Allen, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Nazareth Area at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
