Softball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hillcrest can now relate to. They came up short against the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats on Friday, falling 15-5. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 14-22-1. As for Tuscaloosa County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 36-11-1 record this season.

Hillcrest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Prattville on the 25th. As for Tuscaloosa County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-1 loss against Thompson on the 25th.
