Soccer Game Preview: Agoura vs. Newbury Park

The Agoura Chargers will square off against the Newbury Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Agoura managed to keep up with Oxnard until halftime back in December of 2024, but things quickly went downhill from there. Agoura might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Oxnard an easy 6-0 victory. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 98th).

Meanwhile, Newbury Park managed to keep up with Oxnard until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. 2025 welcomed Newbury Park with a 4-1 loss courtesy of Oxnard.

Agoura's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-2. As for Newbury Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3-1 record this season.
