Basketball Game Preview: Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs vs. Pickett County Bobcats

Red Boiling Springs is 2-8 against Pickett County since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Pickett County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Red Boiling Springs had to suffer through a 66-32 loss at the hands of Clarkrange. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pickett County challenged Gordonsville on Tuesday. Everything went Pickett County's way against Gordonsville as Pickett County made off with a 78-53 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Pickett County pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Red Boiling Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Red Boiling Springs was taken down by Pickett County 62-25 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Red Boiling Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
