Soccer Game Preview: Kankakee vs. Thornwood

The Kankakee Kays will head out on the road to challenge the Thornwood Thunderbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kankakee managed to slip by Bloom the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Kays lost 4-0 to the Blazing Trojan on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, Kankakee's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Thornwood entered their tilt with Crete-Monee on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Considering Thornwood have won seven games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Thornwood's win bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Kankakee, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Kankakee was able to grind out a solid victory over Thornwood in their previous matchup last Wednesday, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kays since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
