Softball Recap: Assumption Has No Trouble Against Fairfield

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Davenport North, Assumption was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Fairfield Trojans as they made off with an 11-4 victory. Considering the Knights have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Assumption is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Assumption didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-5 victory against Center Point-Urbana on the 6th. As for Fairfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Demons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
