Flag Football Recap: Oakleaf Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oakleaf had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hilliard Red Flashes a 19-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Flashes, too.

Oakleaf's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Hilliard, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakleaf will host Fleming Island at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hilliard, they will be playing at home against Yulee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Red Flashes 11, the Hornets 12.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
