Softball Recap: Waller Takes a Loss

Waller was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cypress Ranch Mustangs. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Taylor McCurdy was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Avery Jameson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Waller's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cypress Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Coming up, Waller will host Bridgeland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cypress Ranch, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cypress Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Lakes has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.93 runs per game on average), something Cypress Ranch will no doubt try to take advantage of.
