Medomak Valley and Gardiner are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will face off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Medomak Valley will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Monday, Medomak Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Leavitt, taking the game 4-1.

Medomak Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Simmons, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Gabe Lash was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gardiner, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Cony on Monday. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Gardiner's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Medomak Valley, their record now sits at 7-1.

Medomak Valley took their victory against Gardiner when the teams last played last Friday by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
