Baseball Game Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Muir Mustangs

The Polytechnic Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Muir Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Polytechnic saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of Palm Springs by a score of 7-6.

Alejandro KohnRabassa was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Chui, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with.

Meanwhile, Muir put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Heritage Christian.

Miguel Castillo looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Muir saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kahlil Rishwain, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Muir pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs over those games. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
