Basketball Recap: Pendleton's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

There's no place like home for Pendleton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bend Lava Bears 40-38. The victory was some much needed relief for the Buckaroos as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Pendleton was led to victory by Chaistyn Surber and Khimora Scott. Surber posted eight points and five rebounds, while Scott had 13 points. The dominant performance gave Surber a new career-high in rebounds.

Pendleton's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4. As for Bend, they dropped their record down to 3-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Pendleton will head out to face off against Burns at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bend, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-47 loss against Hood River Valley on the 14th.
