Baseball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Jesuit's Winning Streak

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Jesuit couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Mulberry Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Wilson Andersen was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Andersen wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Waechter, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 25-10. As for Mulberry, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 27-9.

As of now, neither Jesuit nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
