Volleyball Game Preview: Kouts Mustangs & Fillies vs. Lake Central Indians

The Kouts Mustangs & Fillies will head out on the road to challenge the Lake Central Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Kouts has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Lake Central will arrive with four straight wins.

On Wednesday, Kouts didn't have quite enough to beat Crown Point and fell 3-2.

Kouts wouldn't go down easily and took Crown Point into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-10, 19-25, 15-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Lake Central got the win against La Porte on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Lake Central's got stronger as the match went on, holding La Porte to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-11.

Kouts' defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Lake Central, they pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Kouts might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Lake Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Mustangs & Fillies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
