Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Trevor Terfehr and Azayah Washington Lead Apollo to Victory

There's no place like home for Apollo, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Detroit Lakes Lakers on Tuesday as the Apollo Eagles made off with a 90-68 win. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 101-74 victory the Lakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March.

Leading Apollo to victory were Azayah Washington and Trevor Terfehr. Washington posted 26 points in addition to eight assists and four steals, while Terfehr scored 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Washington a new career-high in boards (three). Another player making a difference was Grayson Kaufman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Apollo now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Detroit Lakes, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Apollo will face off against Little Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Apollo's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Detroit Lakes, they will square off against St. Cloud Tech at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
