Softball Recap: King Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses at Home

King made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Middleton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The King Lions blew past the Middleton Tigers 18-3 on Thursday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 18-3 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Madeline Millican, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Gesmy Minier, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

King always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

King's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Middleton, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

King didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-1 loss against Alonso on the 8th. As for Middleton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-1 defeat against Brandon on the 8th.
