Softball Recap: Gray Collegiate Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Bluffton

Gray Collegiate Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They didn't even let the Bluffton Bobcats on the board on Tuesday, marking the War Eagles' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The War Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Peyton Hendrix made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gray Collegiate Academy got a massive performance out of Madison Bumgarner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Bumgarner has posted since back in February. Aspen Boulware was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Gray Collegiate Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in four consecutive games.
