Basketball Game Preview: Academic Magnet Raptors vs. Waccamaw Warriors

Academic Magnet is on a three-game streak of home losses, Waccamaw a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Academic Magnet Raptors will welcome the Waccamaw Warriors at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Academic Magnet ended up a good deal behind Hanahan and lost 49-32. The matchup marked the Raptors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Waccamaw hadn't done well against St. James recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Waccamaw pulled ahead with a 40-39 photo finish over St. James. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Sharks are ranked 17th).

Academic Magnet better focus on containing Connor Hart and Sutton Cooper as the pair were huge in Waccamaw's win. Hart posted nine points and seven rebounds, while Cooper earned nine points and five rebounds.

Academic Magnet's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Waccamaw, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
