Plainville's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 80-77 victory over the Nickerson Panthers. The Cardinals' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Nickerson's loss came despite strong showings from Riley Brawner and Austin Peterson. Brawner dropped a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds, while Peterson went 10-for-13 en route to 23 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Brawner is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Cam Welch was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Plainville's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Nickerson, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Plainville has already played their next game (against Kinsley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Nickerson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-51 victory against Bucklin on the 13th.
