Basketball Recap: Mallory Sprissler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ballston Spa over Guilderland

Ballston Spa played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Guilderland Flying Dutchmen, falling 61-37. That's two games in a row now that the Scotties have lost by exactly 24 points.

Several Scotties players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mallory Sprissler, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most boards Sprissler has posted since back in November of 2023. Aubrey Kramer was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Ballston Spa has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. As for Guilderland, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ballston Spa will venture away from home to face off against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Columbia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Guilderland, they will square off against Bethlehem Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
