Basketball Recap: Citrus Hurricanes vs. Lecanto Panthers

Citrus lost against Lecanto back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Citrus Hurricanes had to suffer through a 101-69 loss at the hands of the Lecanto Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 728th, while the Panthers are ranked 109th).

Loss or not, Citrus got some senior leadership from Ashton Jenkins and Landon Hensley. Jenkins dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, while Hensley went 6 for 14 en route to 18 points in addition to eight assists and four blocks. Hensley is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Caleb Blanch was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Citrus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.
