With the big class Show-Me Showdown just around the corner, it's time to look at the brackets and see which schools have a shot at boys and girls state basketball titles in Classes 4 and 5.
Now that sectionals have concluded for Missouri’s big school basketball teams, it’s time to take a look at quarterfinal action and beyond.
The final round of eight hits the courts for Class 4 and 5 boys and girls basketball teams Saturday at various locations around the state. The winners will then get an invitation to the annual Show-Me Showdown at Mizzou Arena in Columbia March 12-14.
Four schools in Classes 4 and 5 are still vying for state basketball titles in both the boys and girls tournaments. Columbia-Rock Bridge, Hazelwood Central and Liberty may get dual championships in Class 5, while Miller Career Academy still holds on to hopes of a boy-girl sweep in Class 4.
Classes 1, 2 and 3 are still trying to iron out which teams will qualify for the sectional round of 16 to be held next week. District title action is set to resume this weekend with winners grabbing those invitations.
Teams that win at sectionals will advance to their respective class’ quarterfinals next weekend. Those winners will then advance to Show-Me Showdown II at Mizzou Arena in Columbia on March 19-20.
Here is a look at which teams should advance through the brackets at the big school state basketball tournaments:
