Basketball Game Preview: Palos Verdes Sea Kings vs. JSerra Catholic Lions

The Palos Verdes Sea Kings will face off against the JSerra Catholic Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. JSerra Catholic took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Palos Verdes, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Palos Verdes was able to grind out a solid victory over El Segundo, taking the game 53-43. Given the Sea Kings' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Eagles are ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, JSerra Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Mater Dei, falling 65-44. The Lions were down 52-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Palos Verdes has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for JSerra Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
