Softball Recap: Southwood's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Southwood won the last time they faced Manchester and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Squires.

Southwood let Gracie Lambert and Aaliyah Dyson run wild. Lambert went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Dyson went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Dyson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Ashba, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Southwood's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-9. As for Manchester, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-14.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southwood is set to challenge their familiar foe Wabash at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Manchester will square off against rival Northfield at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
