Volleyball Recap: Mount Mercy Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mount Mercy Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nardin Academy Gators. If the Magic were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Gators when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mount Mercy Academy took Nardin Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 15-12.

Taylor Ferris paced Mount Mercy Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ferris got some help from Mara McCrea and her 30 assists.

Mount Mercy Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Nardin Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Mount Mercy Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against St. Mary's on the 26th. As for Nardin Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Cardinal O'Hara on the 26th.
