It was a proper cat-fight when Gardner-South Wilmington duked it out with Donovan on Thursday. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Gardner-South Wilmington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Grace Vitko paced Gardner-South Wilmington's offense, picking up seven kills. Vitko got some help from Olivia Siano and her 13 assists. Vitko also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maddie Simms, each putting up three.

Gardner-South Wilmington's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Donovan, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
