Basketball Recap: Lake Ridge Academy Takes a Loss

Lake Ridge Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 65-43 to the Brooklyn Hurricanes. The Royals were not able to make up for their loss to the Hurricanes from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Devin Hardwick continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brooklyn, dropping a double-double with 37 points and 15 boards. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which Hardwick has scored at least a third of Brooklyn's points. Tyler Cox was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

Lake Ridge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Brooklyn, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-17.

Coming up, Lake Ridge Academy will face off against Central Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 22nd. Central Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Lake Ridge Academy likes a good challenge. As for Brooklyn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-58 win against Max S. Hayes on the 14th.
